Kristin Davisson, Psy.D

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in individual and couples psychotherapy maintaining an active private practice. I am licensed in Illinois and Texas and accepting telehealth referrals in both states. I have experience in a range of settings including community mental health, college counseling, hospitals and private practice.

I hold both a Master’s Degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL and completed a fellowship at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. I am active in Division 39 of the American Psychological Association and former President of Section III (Women, Psychoanalysis and Feminism). I am a member of the Psychotherapy Action Network and co-authored and co-edited the book, A Womb of her own; Women’s Struggle for Sexual and Reproductive Autonomy (2017). I have been involved in presenting and teaching on issues including feminism, intersectionality, sexual trauma, psychotherapy, and access to healthcare. In addition, I have experience in neuropsychological assessments for ADHD and learning disabilities. A growing body of my work and experience is working with Whiteness and White Bodied Affinity Work as well as engaging in community building.

My passion is psychotherapy and working with clients to uncover their potential for increased meaning in life. As a psychotherapist, I strive to be both warm and direct. I live in Oak Park, IL with my family. I love the outdoors, good books and film, and spending quality time with loved ones and community.
